Frequently asked Questions:
Zoom Teeth Whitening
What is ZOOM teeth whitening treatment?
Zoom teeth whitening is the process of eliminating stubborn tooth discoloration from your smile. It begins with your dentist protecting your gums with a rubber shield. Then he paints the whitening gel onto the front surfaces of your teeth. When your smile is covered, he will activate the solution with a special ultraviolet light. This will make the whitening chemicals penetrate your teeth and break up the stains. Your dentist will repeat these steps to provide the best results possible.
How many times a year can I get Zoom whitening?
Zoom Teeth Whitening is probably one of the most effective ways to whiten your teeth. Most patients are very happy with the results, and there is minimal post whitening sensitivity. With that said, Zoom Whitening should be done no more than once a year. We supply you with trays to allow touch-ups between ZOOM treatments. Contact our office to schedule a Zoom Whitening consultation for further evaluation.
Does ZOOM teeth whitening hurt?
Zoom teeth whitening does not cause pain whatsoever. Dr. Bennett Gum’s dental team will protect your oral tissues to keep them from feeling irritated, which will help you avoid any stinging or uncomfortable sensation. After your treatment, you might feel a little sensitivity in your teeth, but it should be minimal and go away quickly. Give us a call or request an appointment online for your Zoom Whitening consultation.
what is the protocol after having the zoom whitening procedure?
Immediately after Zoom whitening, your teeth are prone to absorbing stains. We tell our patients “anything that will stain a white shirt will stain your teeth.” The foods/beverages that we suggest our patients avoid are: coffee, smoking & chewing, pasta sauces, soy sauce, ketchup, berries, juices, soda, etc. For the first 2 weeks after whitening your teeth are prone to absorbing stains, but the first 48 hours are crucial.
